Black History Month Competition
To celebrate Black History Month this year, the History department ran a competition for students to create a piece of work celebrating their ‘Black History Hero’.
We had a range of entries including prominent black figures in politics, sport, the arts and activism.
All entrants received a certificate of commendation for their excellent work which showcased their enthusiasm and interest in the subject.
The winner, who will receive a journal, was Skye-Beatrix in 8M who chose her great-grandparents as her inspirational black figures. She created a fantastic presentation which included key details from their lives and offered excellent explanations of their significance.
Well done to Skye-Beatrix and all entrants!
